Kidrak Beach Turkey 2026: Hidden Cove Visitor Guide

Kidrak Beach is a fine pebble and coarse sand cove with smooth pebbles underwater — water shoes make a noticeable difference. Waves are usually calm thanks to the sheltered headlands, and visibility runs 3 to 5 metres in summer. The water is shallow for the first few metres and then drops off relatively quickly, so it suits confident young swimmers but needs closer supervision for toddlers than neighbouring Belcekız.

Entrance

Kidrak Beach charges the Oludeniz Nature Park entrance fee — approximately 40–60 TL per pedestrian and approximately 120–180 TL per vehicle as of the 2025 season. Prices change annually — check on arrival.

Sunbeds

Sunbed and umbrella sets are operated on the beach, with the front rows under the pines going first in summer. A set of two sunbeds with an umbrella costs approximately 500–750 TL as of 2025.

Eating and Drinking

One on-site beach restaurant and snack bar serves Turkish mezes, gozleme, grilled fish, toasted sandwiches, cold drinks and ice cream. Visitor reviews recommend it for a casual lunch but call full meals overpriced compared with the village restaurants in Oludeniz.

Facilities

Toilets, basic changing cabins and cold showers are available near the sunbed area. The beach has deliberately minimal infrastructure because of its protected status.

Couples: Kidrak Beach is the quieter, more romantic alternative to Oludeniz. May, June, September and October bring warm seas, golden light and noticeably lower accommodation prices nearby. Shoulder-season prices are significantly lower — worth checking early.

Families with children: Best for families with confident swimmers rather than toddlers. Late June and early September offer 24–26°C seas and manageable crowds.

Nature lovers and hikers: The cove sits directly on the Lycian Way — April–May and September–October are ideal for combining a coastal walk with a swim.

Solo travellers: Quieter than Belcekız year-round. June or September give warmth without the midsummer rush.

Elderly visitors: May, early June and October are warm but not oppressive. The walk from the car park to the shore is short and shaded — easier than the Blue Lagoon approach.

• Walk to the south end of the cove. The pines throw natural shade right to the waterline two or three minutes from the main sunbeds, and according to visitor reviews it stays noticeably quieter all day.
• Snorkel the rock points. The northern and southern edges of the cove host small fish, sea urchins and the occasional octopus — the centre of the bay is mostly empty pebble.
• Use Kidrak as a wind backup. When the open sea makes Belcekız choppy, Kidrak stays glassy — multiple reviews call it the local fallback swim spot.
• Hike in along the Lycian Way. The signed forest trail from Oludeniz delivers the best first view of Kidrak Beach from above, far better than arriving by car.

Kidrak Beach is located in Muğla Province on Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast, around 4 km south of Oludeniz and approximately 15 km south of Fethiye town centre. The cove sits inside Oludeniz Tabiat Parkı, reached via a single signposted road that climbs through pine forest from the resort. The setting — protected nature park, no development, dense pines down to the water — is what sets Kidrak Beach apart from its better-known neighbours.

By Car

A 7–10 minute drive from Oludeniz Belcekız on a fully paved road, or around 30 minutes from Fethiye centre. A paid gravel car park sits at the beach entrance.

By Public Transport

There is no direct year-round dolmuş to Kidrak Beach. Take MUTTAŞ Route 3-40 (Fethiye – Ovacık – Hisarönü – Ölüdeniz) to Belcekız — it runs seven days a week, 07:00–22:30, roughly every 15 minutes in summer. From Belcekız, continue 4 km south by taxi (~5–10 minutes) or, in peak summer, a seasonal minibus extension. A coastal walk of around 45 minutes is also possible.

From the Airport

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is approximately 65 km from Kidrak Beach — around 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 minutes by car via Fethiye and Oludeniz.

Direct flights to Dalaman run frequently from May through October from UK and European airports. Booking 6–8 weeks ahead typically saves 30–40% on peak-season fares.

Swimming and Snorkelling

Kidrak Beach is one of the calmest, clearest swimming spots in the Oludeniz area. Snorkelling is best at the rocky northern and southern edges of the cove, where small fish and the occasional octopus shelter among the rocks.

Boat Tours

The 12 Islands and Oludeniz–Butterfly Valley day boats depart from Oludeniz harbour and often pass Kidrak. Day tours can be joined a short taxi ride away.

Hiking

The Lycian Way passes directly above Kidrak Beach. The signed coastal trail links Oludeniz → Kidrak → Faralya → Butterfly Valley — a moderate, pine-shaded route with several swim stops.

Paragliding Viewing

Tandem paragliders launch from Babadağ Mountain and land at Belcekız next door, giving Kidrak swimmers a constant aerial show overhead through the day.

Kidrak Beach itself has no accommodation due to its protected status, but the neighbouring villages cover every budget. Luxury resorts and 5-star hotels overlook the lagoon from the slopes above Oludeniz and Hisaronu. Boutique hotels and pensions in Oludeniz village and Ovacik suit couples wanting character close to the beach. Budget guesthouses and hostels cluster in Hisaronu, while bungalows and eco-lodges at Faralya and Kabak appeal to Lycian Way hikers.

The best-reviewed properties near Kidrak Beach fill up fast for July and August. Shoulder-season visitors (May, June, September, October) find wider availability and significantly lower prices.
