İçmeler Beach Marmaris 2026: The Calm Bay & Family Beach Guide

İçmeler Beach is predominantly coarse sand with sections of fine pebble at the waterline — finer sand further from the shore. Water entry is gradual and gentle with shallows extending far out. Waves are negligible on most days thanks to the mountain-enclosed bay. Water clarity is noticeably better than Marmaris town beach — less boat traffic and the sheltered position keep the water clean and transparent.

İçmeler Beach is well suited for families with young children thanks to its shallow, calm water and gradual entry — the sheltered bay makes it one of the safest swimming spots in the Marmaris area. Water shoes recommended for the pebbly patches near the waterline. The defining feature is the amphitheatre setting: pine-covered mountains rising steeply on three sides, turquoise water in the middle, and a lively promenade along the front.

Elderly visitors benefit from the flat promenade, gentle water, and easy dolmuş access.

Divers have PADI centres on the doorstep with 15–25 metre visibility and reef walls nearby. Solo travellers find the village atmosphere more relaxed than Marmaris's party strip. September offers the warmest sea (25.5 °C) with thinning crowds.

From Marmaris centre, ~8 km, 10–15 minutes. Street parking limited in summer — paid car parks operate near the beach. From Dalaman Airport, approximately 95–100 km, 1.5–2 hours.

From the Airport

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is ~95 km away. Airport transfer shuttles, private taxis, and car hire available. Some hotels arrange transfers.

Direct flights to Dalaman run frequently from May through October. Booking 6–8 weeks ahead typically saves 30–40% on peak-season fares.

Water Sports
